It is not always a game of ‘mom-is-a-dodo.’ Once they enter their mid/late teens, it is not father against mother, but their parents against others’ parents. It is the all important thing to impress their friends by presenting their parents in the best light.

I have often wondered why these ‘doctors’ only advertise on the walls or in the classified section of the newspapers. It is almost clandestine, if you know what I mean.

The moving bug

The tradition of moving houses has been passed on to us children from my parents. While my sisters and brothers have shifted houses, I take the cake having shifted about three dozen of them, give or take a couple.

If I want to eat a Chinese dinner, the L&M might want a tandoori night and the boys would want nothing short of a Moroccan meal or a Spanish feast.

All I need to do is log on to one of the social networking sites and I get to know what the Big B did over the weekend, what time Tendulkar turned in the previous night, what Priyanka Chopra had for lunch and so on.

The one good thing about nursery rhymes is that they are taught to very small children who don’t ask you the meaning of the words but happily sing them!
