Interlude

It is that time of the year again – a time to catch up with family.

Times have changed from when families could afford to live together and spend all their time with each other — often getting on each other’s  nerves and under each other’s foot, but also being a support!  Today we have to measure the times together in small doses and stretch and make the memories last till the next time we can be together again. For technology can only give us the ‘virtual feel,’ but never replace the virtual experience. Skype and phone are fine, but nothing can replace the 4D effect of the actual thing. Everything else takes second place as togetherness takes primary place in the scheme of things.

The trains and flights are full of those who are visiting their children/parents.  It is endearing to see the older folks eagerly counting the hours and the minutes when they will be united with their family. We do the same as we fly towards our children. All the fatigue of travel, the jet lag and the interminable wait at the immigration vanishes when we see the beaming faces of the older brat and his family as the little one shyly smiles at her grandparents. She sure must be feeling gleeful about having two willing attendants who would be dancing to her tune in the coming weeks.

We relax completely as the L&M enjoys a show on the TV with the Daughter, and I share  a  joke with her; and the older Brat looks pleased as punch as he sees his parents having a wonderful time — seeing the wheel come a full circle. I am at the moment busy prancing with my granddaughter and having loads of fun. She made me run a race today in the garden! We miss the younger Brat , but of course he will join us back in Delhi next month when  I can say that ‘the cup overfloweth.’

What this long-winded introduction means is that the Cybernag will not be seen so regularly on her own blog or those of her friends whom she follows diligently. Do indulge her and bear with her. And please don’t go away, she will be back, ‘break ke baad, with more stories and nag the daylights out of you all!

    1. Thanks for appreciating. I keep looking out for good blogs to follow and yours was one of them. Please browse by categories if you would like to read a particular type of stuff. The L&M posts are about all families in general — they each have an L&M, you included 🙂 I like to use my blog as an online magazine to give myself the space to write all genres. 🙂

Have a wonderful time with your family and loved ones, Zephyr!

In this big crowded blog-o-sphere with so little time on our hands, we sometimes unintentionally end up ignoring some people. Thanks for dropping a reminder note at my blog.

Never mind that you will be missed, never mind that I have no one to talk to, never mind that I kind of feel orphaned and abandoned in the blogging world, never mind that I have to celebrate my blogversary without you… never mind. I understand that this is an interlude that must be taken for body, soul and blogging 😛

    Miss you, Zephyr.

  28. Have a wonderful break with the family, Zephyr! Glad to know you are doing races in the garden et al. Very much par for the course. (My son did cycle races with my Mom 24 years ago, when they visited. :-))…)

Attended the blogmeet I mentioned to you last Sunday, and looked out for your namesake. She had not made it for the meet. :-)) Also said hi to your younger one. Had a great time, and wished you had come.

Enjoy the wonderful English Summer, and hope you have a wonderful break.

    1. Cycle races! Now that would be hard for me to match though she wanted me to take either her trike or scooter and race with her 😀 I had to politely refuse and offered to run the race instead. 🙂 Vinni told me that he met you at the Meet too. Wish I had been there and got to chat with you all. I saw Pankaja’s photos, but couldn’t place a name to the faces — they all looked lovely though, including you 🙂 I would have loved to see the pretty face of my namesake. Next time, maybe.

It has become cloudy since last evening and I do hope the weather holds for our holiday!
